Hi all, am new to the forum and happily back on two wheels after a work related absence. Curious to see if there are many Strommers out here in the north around Enoggera, Ferny Grove, Samford etc keen to catch up for rides in the area. Fortunately enough, access to Dayboro, Nebo, Glorious etc a defenite bonus out this way. Of course, the invitation is extended to all people from all places.

Hey Rob, good to see another Strommer out my way.
I'd be up for a meet and catch up at some stage if you're keen. Cheers (and PM sent) Last edited by honez; 07-19-2012 at 09:51 PM. |

That sound great fellas. As I am a shift worker & travel a bit I need a little bit of notice as well. Weekdays are good too depending on shifts etc. Will check my rosters and throw up a few available dates to help people plan etc?

Did a sneaky recce ride today with a mate & his friend. Out through Dayboro, Mt Mee, Jimna, Malaney, Kenilworth, Woodford and a few places I don't recall the names of. Plenty of bitumen (sadly, imbeciles on high powered sports bikes passing on double lines at speeds I consider ridiculous) and almost as much dirt road/tracks with a few water crossings, challenging muddy patches and embarrassingly a muddy long hill that proved too ambitious. Gave the new Heidenau K60's a wide variety of surfaces to work out on and very pleased to say the performed beyond expectations. Depending upon people's likes/dislikes for road or dirt or a combo could be a great day out soon?

I'm keen on a road ride, but my dirt/off road experience is zippo, so that'd count me out on anything worse than unsealed.
One of the reasons I got the Wee was for unsealed back roads up the coast, but not serious dirt bashing, so the bike's never going to be sporting knobby rubber or anything like that. My old ER-6 used to be atrocious on unsealed roads (hardly surprising really) but that's about the limit of my riding off the black stuff. |

I am quite possibly up for a ride this sunday if somebody wants to lead the way, looking for some new roads to travel.

Back from a work trip to the far far north. Would you believe I came across 4 people from the gold coast/nthn NSW area just outside Seisia near Bamaga on Cape York who had shipped their bikes to Cairns and ridden up from there. 2 were DL650's, can't recall the other 2 bikes, not interested enough. What a trip, they were fortunate enough to have a mate driving a support 4wd with all their kit etc on board. Lucky buggers. Anyway, back to matters at hand, whilst away all my new SW motech gear has arrived and next 2 days of will be devoted to fitting and testing. Thinking of a bit of a ride up and around Dayboro, Woodford etc over the weekend. Either Sat, Sun or maybe both!! Nothing too taxing...just a bit of a run. Anyone keen?
