Afraid those LEDs wont be in the package deal unfortunately....

Aim for $10k, settle for no more than $10.25K - good luck

Dont know about all them LEDsrecon a bloke would never remember which ones were on the go.Hard for any one to say the old "just didn't see him" thing.
If I can pull a 12 Wee with ORs for $10,250 I will be a happy little Vegemite we shall see.

I would counsel anybody who thinks they need that much visibility on a motorcycle to sell their bike immediately and never ride one again.

K1W1,

for around $300 and 15 hours of so of my own labour for these lights and wiring, it only has to save me once, even from a non-life threatening crash, for it to be worth it in my books - of course everyone's perception of risk and benefit is different. Dont forget people used to and some still do think helmet and motorcycle dont go together. As to the nerd and non-cool factor - well at least the extra time people spent looking at me and thinking WTF is time they needed to notice my presence on the road.

So your counsel is duly noted and appreciated but i beg to differ on your conclusion.

Getting it in December last year would have seen you paid close to the RRP as the bike just came out - demand outstrip supply totally.

I think, whether it's car or bike, you should generally be able to get at least 10% off from the full RRP plus on-roads, unless the demand totally outstrip supply (eg limited editions, BMW marketing strategy...). Sometimes you get more off depending on your luck.

It helps if you know exactly what you want and be prepared to walk away from it and wait a bit. my 2008 vstrom was purchased only after visiting 4 dealership. Previous 2006 FZ1 took 4 weeks and 5 different dealership, but i saved closed to $4k from the full on-road price. That said, Springwood Suzuki was my preferred choice regardless as they treated me with the utmost respect and is the best no BS dealership i have come across for a while.

Something i noticed on the net: nobody seem to want to disclose how much they pay- this tendency only seem to benefit dealers.

For a starter and to include in database- I recently took out my old invoice - 08 Vstrom ABS complianced April 08 bought Jul08 for $10,270 with 12 month rego including Givi Tall screen & EBC front metal pads - basically $10,000 for the bike and $270 (full RRP for the parts).

I reminded Springwood Suzuki how much i paid for 08 ABS recently and asked, for my benefit, how much can i get the new one for (clean no trade)- "Within a couple hundred of you paid for the 2008" is the answer i got.

Mine was $11.2k ride away(Vic) in January. Best price I could get given the limited supply. If you can get one for mid 10's grab it.

Dont fret Smithy
Except for Tweeds deal down the coast we are only talking "should be" pricing, and the difference between that and reality can be a shock.
When Dexta bit the dust and had to be rebuilt I tried Springwood for a new DR650,cash sale,do the deal now type buy. They wouldnt budge a $ from the listed price.I went back to Ipswich and a fair dinkum deal for the second KLR
Hopefully I will get time to check them out in the next week or so.
Funny thing is I have got the best deals in Ipswich,on KLRs and the Dmax.
Brisbane Dmax dealers(any of them) couldnt get to within a bulls roar of Ipswich, reckoned they were selling below cost Same with the KLRs
