Here is a picture of how I attached the mounting plate to my bike. ImageUploadedByMO Free1366016872.443770.jpg
I took of the rack, removed the rubber and marked and drilled the mounting plate to line up with the holes in the rack where the plugs from the mat used to go. I then used the nuts bolts and rectangular washers that came with the Top box to bolt it on, loosely at first so that I could still get a spanner in to bolt the rack back on to the bike and then tightened the mounting plate down onto the rack, I would like to replace the bolts with some made from stainless steal and when I do that I will put some kind off packing between the rack and the plate to allow me to tighten the bolts up with out risk of distorting the mounting plate.
