Default Pitstop on Mt Mee. Not so good!

Had a great day of riding today, but was very disappointed when myself and a few mates stopped for lunch at the Pitstop Cafe' on Mt Mee. After ordering a few "basic" items, we waited, and waited, and waited. After 45 minutes 1/2 our meals came out. Two of my mates waited an hour for "sausage roll and chips." This may be a great location..... but the service today was absolutely terrible. I will not be recommending this place to anyone to come here again. What was more disappointing is that the staff didn't even appologise for the lateness of our meals or even offer any free drinks or anything to ease the delay. As they say, "you can't complain about the service ...... there was none."

I think next time we will stop at the pub or bakery in Dayboro, the bakery in Woodford or the Kilcoy pub?

Mike

That's standard for that place. We now go straight past on to the bellbird cafe at Kenilworth.

Shame as it is a fantastic location.
Needs someone who knows what they are doing to take it over when it inevitably goes broke. (Again)

You paying attention Gareth?

Haha wouldn't run a cafe again, not enough profit margin in it for the work needed to make it a success. The problem with these small weekend cafe is they can't afford a good chef!! When you pay peanuts you get monkeys

I agree, if you want people to come back, then you need good service, the food we were finally served quality wise was just ok, however it's not that hard to have "pies & chips" quickly served. If our local fish 'n' chips shop can get meals out quickly (no more than 15 minutes from ordering) with usually only 3 staff, then a cafe' that's promoting itself should be able to handle the customers. What made the afternoon not so good was the lack of communication from the staff letting us know that there would be a MEGA waiting time. It really felt like we were nobody by the staff. By the time we were served our meal we had lost all appeal of the venue and just wanted to get home.

I hope that the Bellbird Cafe' at Kenilworth keeps it's standards up. Or next time we go to the Daybro pub!

You know that you can get very good coffee at the lookout at Mt Mee now, there is a coffee van parked there at least on weekends. Run by a local lady using locally grown Coffee too.
