Don't know anything about this GPS, just wondering if you have problems where do you go. I'm a Garmin person as with all my riding buddies, hope it works for you.
I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 1100LM (Lifetime Maps) GPS, Refurbished, from Newegg last January for $50.
Walmart has it online for $65.
It works great in the car, in the plastic map cover on my tank bag or just walking around...Wife and Daughter
used it last month walking all around Atlanta and Savanah. No headphone jack, tho.
The map program has already updated twice. Very slowly, despite using a fast computer. The Garmin download
site may be the slowest I've seen.
I have a 99 cent app (MotionX® | Welcome to MotionX) on my Iphone 4 that is the best gps that I have found. Admittedly the phone isn't waterproof, but I use a waterproof case that I can put on fairly quickly. The ram mount works great, and keeps everything very secure. This is the one I use, but there are others all over the web. Universal X-Grip™ Mounted on Buell Motorcycle
Not the perfect solution, but certainly is affordable.
Funny a year ago it was 100 and everyone ooooed and aaaahed over it.
I am no longer a Garmin fan.
My original is ok but crude as in a rotary it will say make right obviously they are all rights. and other quirks.
My Oregon is really only accurate to about 40 feet making finding a Geo cache almost impossible. I check with US Geologic survey markers but its NEVER right and the errors are pretty random.
The routing feature along with stupid INTERNET maps is almost useless.
I don't own a ZUMO because the BMW price is such a rip off.
I have a cheap Android the 1 or 2 times I used it it functioned well, but in my case the screen is so small you would have to stop to look at it.
Its my birthday and I just got a Tom Tom and seems ok going for a test.
What I will try for the next rally is a list of addresses on the roads we want you to take rather than a route though I will list the addresses and you could make routes. I will make a series of mini routes for the non obvious. This will allow ones to be skipped or return if lost etc.
All maps have become subsets of Google Maps who's purpose is to show you nearby advertisers not to guide you.
So in summary
They are all functional but disappointing as there is a missed great potential
I bought the off-brand GPS earlier this year and the mount broke as I was riding. I got to watch $125 go bouncing down the road in my rear view mirror. I think I'll wait a bit before buying another GPS.
read the feed back. one person gave the seller a bad review because he bought a cheap product. not the sellers fault. it's just a product. should have left a product review not a seller review.
I have a Magellan eXplorist 600. it has a number of draw backs including some creative routing, but all in all it serves well. I've replaced the battery with one that lasts longer than it takes to get enough satellites and have been 90% happy with it. No Bluetooth, no mp3s but serviceable.
