I kicked my leg over and took a seat and my feet were barely touching the ground. The fairing/gas tank/cowl--I'll call it the 'front'--of this bike is enormous! I knew the bike was taller than the Nighthawk I used in the MSF but this bike is a Clydesdale and the 250 is not even a pony.. more like a Great Dane with a saddle.
I think I could handle the height, especially after some quality time in the parking lot, but wow, I left the dealer stunned and a less assured of the Wee as a good first bike.

First of all temper my response with the knowledge of my newbism...First year on a motorcycle and my first motorcycle (650 Vstrom).
I think your initial opinion (''this thing is huge'') should answer your own question. The size of the bike is relative to the rider and within reason, no 'bad starter bike' fits every one person...but your inseam has potential to make slow speed operations a 'drop test'. I nearly dropped mine during a slow speed maneuver screw-up and I'm certain my largeness (35 inch inseam) kept the bike from laying down. (I stalled the bike getting back on the throttle while doing a sharp turn at idle)
My girlfriend bought a Honda 250, which stays at my house and I get to ride

it. I have to admit, I was willing to try slow speed maneuvers (with more confidences) on her bike before I did them on mine and I didn't think the size of the Wee was intimidating. What does that say?-I was lying to myself a little. LOL
That being said...The bike is great.
Best of luck with your decision.
