Duncan, not sure if Eric reminded you but you need to use plastic tent stakes on the RV sites at Old Forge. They require that due to underground electric wires running through the sites. Look forward to seeing you there! Ron

Those pegs came with the bike but I'm almost sure they're from a KLR... I love them!

Thanks! That was taken off the top of a hill that is a well-know landmark on the shores of the Great Salt Lake called Black Rock.

Dang, I'm slow on this by a few months. I didn't notice this message. I just went with stock tires and gumbied my way up.

    Duncan,
It's a very fun bike with a great motor, that wheelies like a hooligan, good suspension, but its a real pain to work on. Taking it all apart is tedious. I'm currently having some glitches that are frustrating. Most of its problems have good solutions. I'm not bored just frustrated. I work long hours and its been down for maintenance too much time. MPG and range is horrific despite a 5.3 gal tank. Reserve light comes on at 125-135 miles (1 gal reserve) in my typical aggressive city and country road driving which is 32 MPG. My car does better. I was just as aggressive on my Wee and got over 40 mpg. I'm going on a 3000 mile (6 day) Smokey Mountain trip in two weeks and I'll carry an extra 6 liter tank to get my range over 250 miles in case I need it. Like I said the problems are workable. If I get the reliability sorted I'll be happier.

    Hi , Duncan ,
I did get some GoPro video in the Dominican Republic , with the host's camera attached to my bike , but just on our first day of acclimatizing to the bikes and traffic , around our home base .
On the second day , when we hit the most incredible mountain twisties ... the go pro broke off the mounting and was lost .

I can confirm the rumors, It really is a great place to ride. As far as recommending where to go, it all depends on what you like to do and see.

The cabot trail is definitely a must, but there are alot of other roads that are almost as nice
