Hi Phil.
Question for you - and this only just occurred to me now.
How bent out of shape are people going to be when they realize I don't use a GPS for anything?
It looks like we'll be around a dozen people, although when I first started planning, it was more like 5 or 6. I've done large events before, and always just planned it using my maps and pre-riding stuff to get my mileage accurate. I print the stuff out on sheets that I hand out to people. It's always worked before, but it's been a few years, and GPS is so pervasive ( or is that invasive ?) now, that most people don't leave their driveways without them.
If I have a route sheet, can people program their own GPS's from that? Or is there something else I should do?
Originally, with only a handful of people, I figured they'd just follow me. That becomes difficult once we start getting past ten people, which I'm pretty sure we are.
What do you think? Any & all advice gladly accepted.
Thanks,
Jamie
