Yup, that's my DL1000's oil drain plug. I went from that to this:


I have written a full report with photos on my own website but thought I would post here for other Stromtroopers who at some point may find themselves in the same position and might benefit from my experience and information. Here is what I used:

Time-Sert repair kit #1415A
Honda Civic drain bolt part #90009-PY3-000

note: The stock DL1k oil drain bolt size is 14mm x 1.25 --repeat, this is for the DL1000. I decided to use the TimeSert insert that is M14x1.5 and therefore needed a new drain bolt (thus the Civic one).

If you are a registered Stromtrooper with a minimum of 25 posts and find yourself with a stripped oil drain plug, I may be willing to loan you my Time-Sert kit (tools) so that you don't have to plunk down the dough to purchase the kit yourself.
