My situation is different than most, I inherited the DL after lost my brother. Since I am an amputee the sidecar was the only option for me to ride his bike. But to answer your question, yes I would do it again. I ride my outfit about 10K miles a year and really enjoy it. I also do all the work on it but did not fit the sidecar. If you would like to discuss this in depth I am going to PM you my phone #. Just give me a heads up on your area code so I know its you, I get lots of spam calls on my phone.

I came across your sidecar during some research to do about my current bike situation.

My DL1000 was taken out in an accident this July. Most of the damage looks to be on the front end. Picasa Web Albums - George Overkamp - 07-13-13 DL10...

This weekend, I picked up a very well set up 2005 Hannigan super sport rigged to an OK 1987 BMW K75. My ride back to Brooklyn from Michigan yesterday had taught me how much I miss the V, and how poorly the K75's ergo's are for me.

Can you share some info on your build, and some pictures? Would you do it again? What kind of costs should I be considering to get that Vstrom to mount to my current hack? Any general advice would be appreciated!

Hi, how did you make out installing the Pingel and sidecar on the V Strom? Can you send photos I'm working on the same bike.

    Steve send those pictures to
PS What changes on gearing are you making? According to info on forums 16/44 is the appropriate one in this case.

    Hi Steve,
Good to know you are enjoying your hack. As you mentioned it, I am really anxious I cannot wait any longer, I really want to see our hack finished, but I need to give Claude time to do his job.

Thanks for taking the time to read our website, we plan to keep everyone updated about what is happening while we travel south with the hack. Stay tuned!!!

Please send me pics of your hack as soon as you have them. I love seeing pics of Claude's hacks, they help me to picture how mine is going to be.

Have a wonderful rest of the day

Thanks for giving me an update about my hack too

    Efrain Martinez

PS So you did not do any modifications to the suspension? Claude is having my rear shock upgraded with a stiffer spring and I already had stiffer springs in the front.
