There is a video on the linked page that goes through the wiring connections.

    Hi Rick,
I'm just installing your aux light harness and have a couple quick questions. There are two black wires with post connectors. I assume the longer one goes to the negative terminal? Where does the other one go (the one right near the relay).
And the bare ended red wire. Where does that go?
    Thanks in advance!

Raising the rear 38 mm would have less effect than switching from a cruiser to a V-Strom to a sport bike. However, with that much change I would have to guess that you would notice sharper turning characteristics at low speed and maybe some twitchy-ness at high speed. Lowering the forks in the triple clamp would help, but doing so with less grip on the top is so unconventional I myself wouldn't do it. Some type of tube extension is needed.

hey again. Alfie53 here. I did reply to your last post in 'Raising Rear of Vstrom" but you may not have seen it.
    Q. I'm certainly interested in raising the rear. Not sure if 38 would unbalance the bike too much and whether maybe 30mm raised rear and 10mm drop forks through clamps might be a good compromise?
Also, would a 10mm spacer of fork diameter be a wise addition to the space left above the fork in the clamp when forks are lowered? Seems to me something for the top clamp bolt to tighten hard onto. Would just value your advice as I'm game to experiment but new to all this on the Strom. thanks again.

I see by your profile that you are Navy nuke guy! I work in EP at Ameren's Callaway Plant, which borders my small farm. I am a staff member of the local US Naval Sea Cadet unit (Thomas Jefferson Division), and I am planning to organize a nuclear power training weekend for some of the older cadets in the region next January.

Thanks again, it is a great starting place for me to noodle the idea!

I have registered at VSRI, and I used you as my referral - I hope that is OK?

Oh, and you can't usually tell it is there behind the bike. I only felt it once while riding during a VERY abrupt course correction when a car passed me on the right side while I was moving into the spot suddenly occupied by that car. We were moving down the interstate at 80 mph and all I felt was a little wiggle as the bike and trailer adjusted to the emergency change in attitude. I didn't even know what it was at first, just slight feeling that was different.

Moving around in parking lots does require more forethought.

I like it so much that I am planning on continuing the build. That basic trailer is going to morph into something like the miniature tail end of a strom shown on that linked thread in the first message. Complete with smaller tope case and panniers and coloring to match the bike.

Howdy! I noticed the trailer rig you have behind your bike in the picture, and I am curious about it. Is it a commerical product, and how does it effect your bike's handling? I have some ambitions about longer trips, and it looks like it might be really handy.

    Thanks, and safe travels!

I had yours. Good piece but it was not noticeable to me. However, the lowering brackets were huge. I sold the bike to a new member her on Monday. I am moving into a new bike.

I saw that you didn't really see a difference when you installed your fork brace. What brand of fork brace are you using?

    Hi Phil,

    Thanks for the feedback.

We don't make and I don't have any experience with larger foot pegs for the V-Strom.

Are you going to the western gathering?

    Rick-
Do you make or have recommendation re larger footpegs, no rubber, for 2103 DL650A? I bought a bunch of your stuff late summer last year (brace, lowering kit, gps mount, extenders--all excellent).
    Thanks,
